100,000 Jobs Promised in AI Deal 

United States: U.S. President Donald Trump hit back against artificial intelligence project comments made by his business ally and close friend Elon Musk during an announcement at the White House on Tuesday. 

Trump Announces Stargate AI Initiative 

Stargate represents the joint effort between OpenAI creator ChatGPT, SoftBank (9984.T), and Oracle (ORCL.N) to engineer data center construction projects that will generate more than 100,000 new positions across the United States, according to Trump’s Tuesday announcement, as reported by Reuters

SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son together with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison participated in the White House launch event when joining Trump. 

Musk who acts as the key adviser to Trump functions as Tesla’s CEO and stands as the planet’s wealthiest man yet he fights legal battles with OpenAI while maintaining proximity to Trump. 

Elon Musk Voices Doubts on Funding 

According to his most recent X post on Wednesday Musk expressed skepticism about the group’s ability to secure funding for their plans. 

“They don’t actually have the money,” Musk said. “SoftBank has well under $10B secured. I have that on good authority.” 

Journalists questioned Trump during his White House briefing on Thursday about his reaction to Musk’s criticism of the AI accord. 

Trump Responds to Musk’s Criticism 

“It doesn’t. He hates one of the people in the deal,” Trump said of Musk. “People in the deal are very, very smart people. But, Elon, one of the people he happens to hate. I have certain hatreds of people, too.” 

As for Musk’s claims about insufficient funding, Trump said: “I don’t know if they do, but you know, they’re putting up the money. The government’s not putting up anything, they’re putting up money. They’re very rich people, so I hope they do.” 

Potential Rift Between Trump and Musk 

Trump’s adviser questioned if this incident would create a split between Trump and chieff executive Elon Musk who spearheads Trump’s government efficiency initiative, as reported by Reuters. 

“The end may be in sight,” the adviser said.
