United States – Presidential hopeful Kamala Harris will be rallying for small business owners by proposing a $50,000 tax deduction in New Hampshire on Wednesday to lure independent voters and Trump-skeptic Republicans.
The vice president is to unveil the plan in North Hampton, New Hampshire, in an effort to spur economic growth, the campaign spokesman pointed out. Employment is another notable aspect that involves small businesses, which have become the source of 70% of the net fresh jobs in the U.S. since 2019, as estimated by the government records, as reported by Reuters.
Economic Growth and Employment Focus
Harris is focusing on the independent voters in the state as there is a larger number of those in that category (330,000) than Democrats (258,000) and Republicans (301,000).
More polls conducted today confirm that Harris enjoys a four to six percentage point polling advantage against Trump, her opponent in the Nov. 5 poll.
However, this was refuted by Trump campaign media point person Karoline Leavitt through a tweet that one cannot say that Republicans have abandoned New Mexico, saying that Trump’s legal team has an office and personnel in New Mexico.
Polling Advantage and Opposition
“Kamala Harris is parachuting in because she knows that the Granite State is in play,” she said. “No amount of campaigning in New Hampshire will make up for the fact that Kamala Harris’ support for Bidenomics is crushing them. Energy prices and inflation are up while profit margins and small business optimism are down — and Kamala Harris is to blame.”
Campaign Events and Future Plans
Harris is said to attend a brewery accompanied by elected officers and a head of a “Republicans for Harris” in New Hampshire. Every presidential election since 1992 has seen state support of Democratic candidates except former President George W. Bush. Joe Biden, for the United States of America, trounced Trump in the state by a seven-percentage-point margin in the 2020 election.
Harris’ campaign explained that the proposed tax credit was going to be part of a plan to reduce citizens’ expenditures, increase affordable housing, and lessen prescription drug costs.
The specified tax deduction provides an increase in relief by a magnitude of 10 for the new small businesses, which set up at approximately $40,000, according to the campaign official.
Economic Indicators and Business Growth
On Tuesday, the Treasury elaborated that the U. S. was averaging 430,000 new business applications per month in 2024, a 50% increase compared to 2019, the year before the COVID outbreak and the final year of Trump’s presidency, as reported by Reuters.
According to data available earlier this month, annual inflation dropped to below 3 percent in July, the first time in nearly 3-1/2 years.
