United States—The former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, sold the prospects of Kamala Harris’s presidency at a fundraiser in California on Sunday, which generated millions of dollars following a swing state tour by Harris and her deputy.

Harris said that Pelosi joined the Democratic presidential nominee for a rally in San Francisco, which her campaign said netted over USD 12 million.

Pelosi’s Endorsement and Biden’s Departure

“This is a good day when we welcome Kamala Harris back home to California,” Pelosi announced, referring to the former U. S. senator, attorney general, and district attorney of the given state, as reported by Reuters.

“She makes us all so proud. She brings us so much joy. She gives us so much hope,” Pelosi said at the fundraiser, held in a hotel ballroom.

Harris’s Campaign and Future Challenges

Harris and her vice presidential running partner, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, have just come from a tour of several political swing states where they had tens of thousands of people attending their rallies, capitalizing on what has been a burgeoning ember since the point at which Harris took over the top of the Democratic ticket.

Titled as a long-serving member of the House of Representatives and a veteran politician, Pelosi has been credited for playing a major role in the exit of Joe Biden from the race for the Presidency of the United States of America.

Biden, 81, resigned last month after his combative debate with Republican Donald Trump caused division in the Democratic Party and doubts that the party could win the former president and a second four-year term.

Pelosi’s remarks in a television interview that Biden had not settled on his decision yet to leave was seen as providing cover for some anxious Democratic lawmakers to press him to leave even as he articulated, ‘I am not going anywhere.’

Pelosi has complimented Biden on his accomplishments but, at the same time, been very vocal about his former campaign. On Sunday, she associated Harris, 59, to achievements of Biden’s administration.

“She knows the issues. She knows the strategy. She has gotten an enormous amount done working with Joe Biden,” Pelosi said.

Morten Harris appreciates such sentiments but urged people not to allow themselves to be carried away by it.

But in this critical moment, we must take nothing for granted,” she said before expressing her gratitude to Pelosi and her friendship.

“The energy is undeniable,” Harris said. “Yes, the crowds are large.”

Acknowledgments and Political Dynamics

Other people at the event were California Governor Gavin Newsom, who was once thought to be Biden’s main rival for the Democratic nomination before he withdrew from the race, as reported by Reuters.

Speaking in her own trial against the former president, Harris stated that if Trump returned to the White House, he would immediately sign legislation banning abortion across the country and urged the audience not to forget about California. During his campaign, Trump has distanced himself from the Republican campaign to outlaw abortion, arguing it should be the states’ decision.
