United States: On Monday, Republican U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson argued that countries must prioritize their national goals before helping their neighboring countries safeguard the survival of Western civilization, as reported by Reuters.
National Interests Before Global Aid
Through a video appearance at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) conference in London, Johnson declared that the U.S.’s “strength and leadership” depends on having national interests as its basis for foreign policy.
“It’s a matter of common sense for each of our countries to acknowledge that we must each take care of our own houses before we help take care of the neighborhood,” Johnson said.
“As we seek to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous, we will encourage all our friends and allies to do the same in and for their countries.
“The survival of the West will depend upon that.”
.@SpeakerJohnson The West will only survive if you corrupt pieces of crap in your party start doing your jobs. Trump is making the country more dangerous every day

Johnson Avoids Mentioning Ukraine
Johnson failed to make any direct references to Ukraine throughout his discourse.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio declared Ukraine and Europe must participate in genuine negotiations for ending Moscow’s war during his statements the previous day. The diplomat dismissed European doubts about being excluded from forthcoming first-round talks between Russia and the United States.
Washington requested security-related contributions from European governments through a diplomatic survey directed to their capitals, as reported by Reuters.
